DiGi is offering a Samsung Galaxy S3 promotion, with an additional RM480 (RM20 per month) rebate if you take their DG Smart Plan 88, ending 30th September 2012. Unlike their iPhone 4S (supposedly for RM799, but you pay more than RM2k overall!), this time DiGi are actually giving a generous discount, with the effective cost of the phone over the 24 months to something like RM789 or RM819 depending if you go for the autobilling discount.

This brings the minimum total cost of ownership over 24 months to RM2,811, which puts it at the top end of the market (beating their own DG Smart Plan 68), and definitely at the top end for people who need more than 2GB of data. For people who need less than 2GB of data the usual suspects will probably beat this plan (U Mobile and DG Smart Plan 48). Mind you, you still need an advance payment of RM600 (this will also be rebated monthly) if you want to pick up the phone, so you might end up having to bring more than the RM1,299 stated.
